Summary PML-N has asked President Zardari to arrange interim set-up to hold elections.

Fully opening up against the PPP-led government for the first time, the PML-N ruled out alliance with the PPP.PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said reconciliation with a president with questionable credibility is out of the question. The PML-N statement comes at a time when there were reports, and hints from PPP, of a possible alliance ahead of elections. However, Nawaz said that if President was sincere in protecting democracy, he should hold early elections. On the other hand, the PML-N is itself being suggested by political circles to resign from assemblies in order to forestall the PPP bid to firmly place itself in the upcoming Senate elections before general elections are called.Nawaz Sharif however still didn’t clearly say if his calling for interim set-up meant a possibility of en masse resignations.
