Summary PTI has reacted strongly to news in some papers about alleged meeting between Imran and Munter.
In a statement released from the party’s office in Islamabad, PTI Secretary General Dr Arif Alvi said the news that Imran met US envoy Munter in presence of DG ISI is totally fabricated and false and appears to be an attempt to provide support to the false propaganda unleashed by the PML-N and its cronies that the PTI had the support of the establishment. The allegation is an attempt to divert the attention of the people from the fast-declining popularity of the PML-N because of the failure of its government in Punjab and its anti-people policies that it practised during its two tenures in the federal capital. Its failed rallies in Lahore and Faisalabad had driven it to desperation and it is venting its venom on PTI, he said.He reiterated that such attempts would not dent PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s growing popularity and the flocking of people to his party and programme which is meant to bring about a change in policies of the status quo and align them with the needs and aspirations of the people of Pakistan. He said that we are sending a strong letter to the Sunday Times to retract the falsehood otherwise we reserve the right to claim damages in a court of law.
