Summary Rehman Malik says it has been proved President Zardari has not written to Mullen.
“Mike Mullen has explained that it was a memo which was received from a journalist and he had not considered it. If anything is proved against national interest, then action will be taken,” said the Interior Minister.“Hussain Haqqani is ambassador of Pakistan and he is a responsible person. This has proved that no letter was written to Mike Mullen by President Asif Ali Zardari,” Malik said talking to media outside Parliament House on Thursday.The PPP had come to power on being mandated by the people and it would complete its five-year tenure, he said.Altaf Hussain is a guarantor of democracy and he had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the sake of democracy, he said. “If someone abuses him we think abuses have been hurled upon us,” he added. “Politics of finger-pointing should come to an end,” he said.“I want to make it clear upon members of MQM that the entire PPP stands behind Altaf Bhai like an iron wall. We want to promote politics of reconciliation. Our leadership has decided abuses will not be tolerated even if these are flung upon any politician,” he said.He stated baseless allegations were levelled against the Prime Minister in National Assembly but even then PM talked of reconciliation.“I announce Sitara-e-Shujjat medal for the police personnel who were martyred in Sea View bomb blast. As per preliminary investigation 5 terrorists were on board in vehicle. When police tried to conduct checking, bomb exploded. Two among five terrorists have been identified. One among them hails from Punjab, Potohar and second from Sindh. Brother of one of the terrorists is police sub -inspector,” he said.
