Summary PML-N and MQM Thursday walked out of National Assembly on separate points.
The PML-N particularly chided the government over the alleged letter written to Mike Mullen purportedly by the President. The PML-N hinted at taking the matter to the Supreme Court. While the MQM got agitated when PM Gilani called Zulfiqar Mirza member of affiliated political clan. The session started in the absence of the Speaker and the Deputy.Before the walkout, Opposition Leader Ch Nisar Ali Khan lashed out at the government during his typical fiery speech in the session.Besides alleging the government of anti-PML-N slogans, he also registered protests against Industrial Relations Act’ legislation by the Assembly. He said that it is the provincial subject and the federal legislation on the subject is limited to Islamabad capital territory. The opposition leader also objected business of the government saying that Wednesday issue of urea was raised and the prime minister vowed that the concerned minister would be available on Thursday for reply but the minister was absent.Criticising the government, he said that policy of the government is not clear. Prime Minister Gilani said that the government conveyed to Hillary Clinton to adopt peaceful means for tackling issue of terrorism but according to foreign as well as local media President Zardari promised US to take stern action against Haqani Network, he added.He further said that walkout is also against the corruption in the country. He said that cronies of the government officials are looting PIA, Railways, Sui Gas, NHA and costing the public treasures by Rs 1 trillion, but the government is doing nothing.Meanwhile, MQM also walked out of the session protesting against sending former Interior Minister Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza to London with protocol.MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi, on point of order, said that his part organizes massive rallies in support of President Zardari in Karachi. But the government in Sindh dispatches Mirza, who blames MQM of killings, to London with protocol.Interior minister Rehman Malik said that this is not mina bazaar; there should be a procedural method for the Opposition leader.
