Summary Governor Punjab said that Shah Mahmood Qureshis decision to quit PPP would not make any difference.
Punjab Governor Latif Khosa said Monday that Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s decision to quit the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would not make any difference to the ruling party.His remarks come within minutes after Mr. Qureshi announced his decision to quit the PPP and resign from National Assembly.Governor Khosa dispelled the impression that Qureshi’s departure would harm the PPP in south Punjab.He said Qureshi had been changing loyalties in the past as well. He said Qureshi remained as associate of Zia ul Haq.He said that Qureshi wanted to leave the PPP after becoming nazim of Multan. “PPP is a large party. It will not be affected by any invidual’s decision,” he added.Meanwhile, PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf has termed former party leader Shah Mahmood Qureshis decision of leaving the party his personal decision. Many had left the party in the past but today no one knows where and how they are.While addressing a press conference outside the parliament in Islamabad Pervez Ashraf terming PP an ocean sad that it is not dependent on individuals.Hitting back he said that Qureshi used to be with Nawaz Sharif from where he joined PP.PM Gilani served a five year jail sentence for the PP, he said adding that PP is not a small party and persons do join big political parties such as PP on deputation.
