PPP leader Dr Israr met Imran, offered to join PTI

Dr Israr, who has been at odds with the PPP central leadership, met PTI chief Imran Khan. During the meeting, Imran offered him to join the PTI.On the occasion, Dr Israr said that he fully supported the change slogan of the PTI.A day ago, Dr Israr had demanded that the government set up a truth commission “to investigate the extraordinary increase in the assets of the ruling elite”.“I demand that the government constitute a Truth Commission comprising members of the independent judiciary to examine the extraordinary rise in the assets of the ruling elite.”Dr Israr, whose membership of the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), the top policy making forum of the party, has been suspended for the last two years, said he was honoured with the “medal of suspension” when he raised his voice against the culture of corruption within the party.He said Fauzia Wahab and PPP Secretary General Jahangir Badar had given the impression in separate television appearances that Dr Israr had been “blessed” by the PPP and President Asif Ali Zardari.Dr Israr Shah said since allegations were being made against him, he was obliged to expose the reality for the sake of his integrity. He said political offices are not ‘blessings’ but responsibilities but no one in the party understands the meaning of ‘blessings’ better than Jehangir Badar.
