Summary The leaders of PPP attended a meeting at CM House in effort to eliminate factions within the party.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah invited 83 party leaders at the CM house to ascertain the political situation in the light of recent statements by former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza.The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders strongly criticised Zulfiqar Mirza and his supporters within the party. Meanwhile, Federal Minister Khursheed Shah tried to convince the provincial party leaders not to criticise each other, however, his efforts bore no fruit.The meeting also discussed ways and means to eliminate factions within PPP. The chief minister asked the participants to strictly observe discipline and warned that there will be no place in the party for those who will break party rules.He also forbade provincial ministers assembly members from issuing statements in individual capacity. It was also decided in the meeting that October 18 will be celebrated as party discipline and integration day.The PPP leaders also gave authority to CM Sindh to change portfolios of provincial ministers. The chief minister will initiate contacts and meetings with coalition parties from Saturday and finalise allotments of ministries and departments with them.
