Karachi: gene expert machine to diagnose TB

Several patients lose lives due to wrong diagnoses.Dow University of Karachi’s Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases has been provided with the latest gene expert machine which would be able to diagnose the multi drug resistant TB within two hours.In Pakistan, a TB patient can unnoticeably affect more than 10 persons, raising the TB patients by 300,000 annually.The National TB Programme would provide 12 more machines to other hospitals to halt the rise in TB patients. It has the capacity to diagnose about 20 patients a day.
