Altaf holds Nawaz responsible for MQM slur

In a turn of events after his party re-joining the coalition government, Altaf Hussain came out in the open and said that Nawaz Sharif tried to paint the MQM as a traitor party. He said the MQM was a patriotic party, while Nawaz Sharif tried to befool the people by visiting flooded areas of Sindh. He said the poor peasants were brought together from various areas for the welcome of the PML-N chief on his flood visits.Former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza, a close aide of President Zardari, has accused the MQM of being a terrorist party. Mirza’s statement has unleashed a political whirlwind that eventually saw the MQM return to the coalition fold.In a similar statement, Faryal Talpur, the central leader of PPP and Chairperson of PPP women wing, urged PML-N President Nawaz Sharif not to do politics in the name of flood affectees. Instead of levelling accusations on his opponents, Nawaz should take practical steps for flood victims rescue and relief, she said.Talking to media persons on Saturday, she said that agitations are no solution to people’s problems. She said that PPP has come into power through a democratic way and believes in reconciliation with all political parties including the PML-N. She said that some political parties are politicising the Sindh floods and it should participate in the relief activities of the flood victims.She said that PPP is the biggest political party of the country and its workers could not be harassed through threats and allegations. The PPP leader said if any political party has reservations, PPP is ready to end their grievances but damaging the public property in the name of protest demos won’t be tolerated.To a query, Faryal Talpur said that relief activities in Sindh are being thoroughly monitored, and President Asif Ali Zardari has also issued directives in this connection. She said that rehabilitation of flood affectees has started and very soon all the victims would be rehabilitated.PPPs Sharjeel Memon earlier also came down on Nawaz for his visits to flooded areas of the Sindh province.
