Summary Power shortfall has reached 6000 megawatts and prolonged loadshedding continues across the country.

At least 14 to 16 hours loadshedding continues to create trouble in the urban areas while in rural areas it is up to 20 hours.According to PEPCO sources, power generation is 12000 megawatts while the electricity demand has reached to 18000 megawatts.The sources added that IP’s and thermal power plants are currently producing 20 percent of total power generation while PSO has suspended oil supply to power plants due to nonpayment.The National Power Control Centre has started unannounced load shedding across the country due to decrease in power generation.
