Summary Supreme Court Thursday setting aside a flood report by Sindh Irrigation Department.

Declaring the report as unsatisfactory, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked he would not even read this report, as it did not contain the solicited details.Meantime, Sindh Government’s lawyer Muhammad Shah told the apex court that Rs.20000 had been pledged to each flood victim.The Chief Justice asked the provincial government what steps Sindh government took in this regard.“How did those who avoid acting upon Flood Commission report stay in their offices,” the Chief Justice asked.The court, giving time till Monday for the submission of an exhaustive response, adjourned hearing of Marvi Memon’s petition.
