Summary Interior Minister Rehman Malik says global search engines are not helping in netting terrorists.
He said that the Ministry has written to the Interpol to seek help for effective information sharing.Malik said more steps will be initiated to improve the performance of FIA and competent lawyers will be included in legal branch of FIA. He indicated that Taliban and other terrorist organisations were sharing intelligence through internet. Curbing these activities was imperative, he observed. “Measures will be taken in this connection,” he said.Malik also vowed to bring peace in Karachi. “Certain elements claimed that government had failed to establish peace in Karachi and Karachi should be handed over to the Army. But situation has changed now and peace stands prevailed now. What promise was made by him has been delivered. We all are brothers and we are Pakistanis first,” the interior minister said this while talking to media on Saturday after his visit to FIA headquarters in Islamabad.Rehman Malik said that he had no personal grudge with Bashir Qureshi, chairman of JSQM nor was he behind his arrest. If Bashir Qureshi says so then the judicial inquiry can be held in this respect, he underlined. Doors of the superior judiciary are also open on him, he added.Regarding investigation into killing of former minister Shahbaz Bhatti, he said two people allegedly involved in his killing were in the UEA and government was in contact with Interpol for their arrest.Citing to statement of Maulana Fazlur Rehman he said the JUI-F chief had not given such statement wherein the former had declared him agent of CIA. The JUI-F chief had already clarified his statement, he said. “I am considering suing the media group behind character assassination campaign against me,” he said.
