Dengue virus: Sri Lankan experts assist local doctors

Summary Two groups of Sri Lankan and local experts were formed to cope with dengue virus.

According to Punjab government’s spokesman, steps are being undertaken on warfootings to cope with the dengue virus, and Sri Lankan and local experts have been divided into two groups.These preventive groups of provincial health department along with their Sri Lankan counterparts would coordinate with EDO Health Department while the medical superintendents of teaching hospitals would arrange strategy for anti-virus campaign.They would also prepare short-term and long-term plans in accordance with their experiences.The meeting also took other decision apart from formation of groups against dengue.Another report meanwhile said that Sri Lankan doctors have taken samples of water from Mayo Hospital and its adjoining areas. The samples reportedly carry millions of dengue larvae. The samples have been sent to labs for further tests.
