Summary NEPRA has approved reduction by 65 paisas per unit in tariff of KESC.
The new tariff will be applicable to all consumers, barring lifeline consumers. A meeting was held under National Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Chairman Khalid Saeed on Thursday.KESC took the plea that the power generated by it through its own resources has cost Rs 460 million during the month of July. On the other hand cost of electricity generated through IP resources remained Rs 256 million.Overall electricity was sold to KESC valuing Rs 1.3 billion during the month of July. KESC had requested for reduction in power tariff by 62 paisas per unit. However, NEPRA has accorded approval to decrease in tariff by 65 paisas.
