Monsoon rain continued to play havoc with life across Sindh province for the third continuous day, killing 21 people in different rain related incidents.At least three people were killed in Jamshoro when the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain. In Tando Hyder, a child was killed while a woman was injured when a wall of a house collapsed. Two people were killed in Tando Muhammad Khan when roof of house caved in.Lightening and wall collapse killed four people in Hala. The dead included two children. Low lying areas in Matyari were inundated due to heavy rain.Water-borne diseases are on the rise in the province and claimed three lives so for. House collapse in Saeedabad also claimed one life.Hyderabad received 49mm rain in just two hours. Many areas of the city were submerged under three to four feet water after heavy rain.In Badin, 60 per cent area is under rain water after three day’s continuous rain. Emergency was declared in the area and people in dozens of villages were asked to evacuate the area.Recent rains have claimed 30 lives in Sanghar while 500 were reported injured. The rains have also destroyed more than 37,000 houses in the area.Meanwhile, hundreds of rain affectees including women looted trucks carrying relief goods just outside DCO office. Police resorted to baton-charge to disperse the attackers. On the other hand, Abdus Sattar Edhi has launched begging drive for flood-affected people in Hyderabad.
