Everyone knows Karachis extortionists: Asma Jahangir

Supreme Court Bar Association President Asma Jahangir said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was responsible for initiating the practice of extortion in Karachi and the party was still collecting extortions.While giving arguments in Karachi registry of the Supreme Court during the hearing of the Supreme Court’s suo moto notice case on Karachi target killing, Asma said that the MQM had been creating trouble for a decade.She said that everyone knew that who killed the journalist, Wali Khan Babar, but no arrest was made in this regard.The SCBA president said that only one group was involved in Karachi target killing. She also criticised the role of the media, saying that talk shows of TV channels were fabricated.She went on to add that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority only bothered to look into the matter related with the Pakistan People’s Party and the MQM.Rangers do not share the details of findings of their investigation with police, She said, adding that police had limited resources.
