The Supreme Court has summoned the National Insurance Corporation Limited case probing team tomorrow after cancelling their leaves.A three-member SC bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the NICL scam case on Tuesday.After resuming the duties as the probing officer, Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director General Zafar Qureshi told the court that four of his staff members, assisting him in the probe of NICL case, were sent on leave.He said that he wrote letters to Interior Ministry for assistance but did not get any response, adding that the people he called for questioning did not turn up to him as well.When I tried to contact the FIA interlope director I found that he too was on leave, Qureshi added.He said that he was barred from entering his office under the pretext of a bomb rumour, adding that FIA Assistant Director Khuwaja Hammad had informed him one day earlier that there could be a bomb in the FIA building.The CJP remarked that the court regretted that he was disrespected despite the court orders of his reinstatement as the probing officer of the NICL case.The court said that the government should facilitate the probe instead of backing the criminals.He said that the FIA DG, the Lahore director and assistant director had disobeyed court orders.The CJP said that the FIA DG should have registered a case against the false rumour of bomb.Cancelling the leaves of four members of Quresh’s probing team, the court adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.
