Karachi: Protest against loadshedding continues, KESC Lineman killed

Summary Loadshedding also continued on Independence Day in Karachi and people protested in different areas.

The citizens protested against 20 hours’ loadshedding in Model Colony, 36 hours in Gulzar Hijari and power shutdown for last two days in Landhi Sector 5-D. The citizens erected barricades and blocked the road.On the other hand, some angered people opened fire on KESC repairing staff in Godhra Makkah Colony in which KESC’s Lineman Qamar Alam died on the spot.Meanwhile the citizens protested against the prolonged loadshedding at Natha Khan Bridge and burnt tyres.
