Summary Babar Awan says that it will be perilous, if Punjab Assembly rejects resolution of Saraiki province.

Talking to the media in the Supreme Court building, Awan said that it would be dangerous for Punjab, if the provincial assembly were rejected the resolution regarding the creation of Saraiki province on technical grounds. He hoped that the MPAs sitting on treasury benches in the Punjab assembly would not suppressed the desires of Saraiki speaking people. The former law minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’ demand of forming a commission for creating new provinces was unconstitutional. He said that the constitution had no scope for a commission to create new provinces.Awan said that the PPP had moved resolution in the Punjab Assembly for vote on the creation of a Seraiki province and the Punjab government should deal it according to the Constitution instead of politicising the matter.
