Summary Petrol crisis will persist for ten days, says Secretary Petroleum Ejaz Chaudhry.

Giving a briefing to Public Accounts Committee, Ejaz said that the oil distribution companies were responsible for the shortage. He told the committee that show cause notices to six oil companies have been issued while the licences of all those companies would be cancelled in case of insufficient petrol stock.He said that the ministry owes over Rs 300 billion in circular debt. He maintained that it was not possible to import petrol from India due to ban on trade. It would take one week to resume supplies to normal levels, the secretary added.
