Summary Doctors took out rally in Quetta and also staged a sit-in in front of Parliament in Islamabad.
All the OPDs remained closed throughout the country as a reaction against torture on doctors in Quetta. While showing solidarity with their comrades, doctors went on strikes throughout the country; although emergency wards remained opened. They also took out rally which started from Press Club and culminated at High Court where doctors staged a sit-in and shouted slogans for their rights. In Lahore, at the call of Young Doctors Association, doctors also showed solidarity with their companions and boycotted medical services.Likewise, doctors in Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and other cities also expressed their harmony with doctors who were victimized by police in Quetta. They warned that if Balochistan government did not change its attitude, they would expand the protests throughout the country. They were also of the view that if law enforcers did not take proper action against responsible persons, they would call for a long march.On the contrary, doctors in Karachi attended their duties with black bands on their arms. They said that situation in the city was already too tense to stand ace strikes.
