SC: DG FIA indicted in contempt of court case

In the contempt of court case, the Supreme Court indicted Director General FIA Malik Iqbal and summoned the Home Secretary and Secretary Establishment on June 8 for the proceedings.Hearing of the contempt of court case in the NICL corruption scandal was under a three member Supreme Court bench was headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who said that the DG FIA worked against the directions of the court. The court declared Malik Iqbal’s answer to remove Additional DG FIA Zafar Qureshi as unsatisfactory. The court said that the contempt of court action would be taken against him. Attorney General would be the prosecutor in the case. The court demanded the investigation record of the NICL corruption scandal and the record for the changing of investigation officer Zafar Qureshi.
