Govt to introduce tax reforms in Punjab budget

Summary Punjab government will introduce tax reforms in various sectors, including in agricultural sector.

Sources in the Punjab Finance Ministry told Dunya News that under the new formula of recovering agricultural income tax, land revenue, canal dues, debts and all other taxes would be merged and the accumulative tax would be imposed on the persons having Rs 300,000 or more income per annum.Another proposal suggests sales tax on services sector.The provincial general sales can be imposed on private educational institutions which charge minimum of Rs 6,000 per month fee, while legal firms, private security agencies, beauty parlors in posh localities, property developers and larger commercial swimming pools could also be taken into general sales net.An increase of Rs 400 to Rs 3,000 has been suggested in the token tax fee on cars according to their engine capacity.
