A two-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the case of the commercial use of agro farms and illegal construction on Monday.Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Imtiaz Inayat told the court that instead of growing fruits and vegetable, marriage halls and villas were being constructed on the farmland.He said that the CDA received complain about 500 farms out of 610 and had taken back some 13,000 kanal.Adjourning the hearing for a month, the CJP summoned a detailed report regarding the agro farms owners from the attorney general and the CDA chairman.
