The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that mercury would soar in most parts of the country as the weather would remain hot and dry. Spells of hot wind are also predicted for the plain areas of the country.Maximum temperature in the country, 48 Celsius, was recorded in Nurpur Thal, whereas 46 Celsius was recorded in Dera Ghazi Khan, Nawab Shah and Dadu.Temperature soared to 45 Celsius in Jacobabad, Larkana and Faisalabad while 44 Celsius was recorded in Dera Ismail Khan, Sukkur, Mulatan, Bannu and Lahore. The prices of cold drinks have also surged with the increase in temperature.
