Summary Syed Shahi said that peace could return to Karachi after implementation of a peace formula.
Addressing a public meeting in Karachi, the Sindh president of Awami National Party (ANP), Syed Shahi, said that political problems could not be solved through bullets. He said that Karachi must be purged of firearms to make it a peaceful city again.He was of the view that the Swat and Buner-like operations were the need of the hour to defeat terrorists. He requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo motu notice of the target killings in Karachi, saying that the families of the victims must be compensated. He also demanded the re-opening of May 12 case.
