Summary Despite the orders of President Asif Ali Zardari, no reduction was made in gas load shedding for industries in Faisalabad as the factories were closed for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday.

Taking the notice of protests against the suspension of gas supply, President Zardari had directed the authorities concerned to reduce the duration of load shedding to two days a week, instead of five days a week. However, no reduction was made in the gas load shedding that paralyzed 450 industrial units in Faisalabad.Earlier, the industrial organizations said that they would continue their protest against the gas suspension. They announced that the factory workers and owners would perform a sit-in at Ghanta Ghar square today, besides besieging the Sui Gas office. The industrialists said that if their demands would not be accepted, they would start a long march towards Islamabad and stage a sit-in before the National Assembly building.
