Summary The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the hearing of a petition, challenging the hike in sugar prices, for 15 days.
Counsel of the petitioner advocate Azharul Haq told the court that the poor people were facing problems due to rise in sugar prices while the government and Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) have taken no action against this price hike.Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said in his remarks that TCP’s eyes would be opened when there would be scarcity of sugar in the country.On this occasion, the government’s lawyer requested the court to grant time of 15 days to submit reply. The court adjourned the hearing for 15 days.
