Summary A blast injured five people and damaged a few shops in the busy Shafi cloth market in Sadar, Peshawar. The police, Rescue 1122 and the bomb squad arrived at the scene in a timely fashion. The injured were taken to the Cantonment Board Hospital and the Lady Reading Hospital.
According to the police, the blast occurred when a generator exploded while the SSP Operation Ijaz Ahmed said that the explosion was due to a remote control bomb which had 500grams of explosive material hidden in a toy. No casualties were reported but windows of the nearby shops shattered due to the explosion.
