Summary Nawaz Sharif also gave directions to make the development projects more transparent
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting Monday on analyzing the current situation of development projects while directing their quick completion.
During the proceedings in Islamabad, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) Director General Lt. General Muhammad Afzal and National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar briefed PM Nawaz of the projects under construction.
They also talked about a particular project to connect New Islamabad Airport with Metro Bus station. Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities to complete all such development projects in quick succession.
Also, he told the authorities not to compromise on the quality of work, adding that the transparency should be taken into account as a priority. He asked them to pay special emphasis on transportation projects so that the economic growth of the country can be further strengthened.
It should be noted that the federal budget for fiscal year 2017-18 contains an increased share of 1,001 billion rupees for Public Sector Development Program. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced Budget 2017-18 with a 40% hiked portion for development.
