Summary Pakistani High Commissioner in India says Pak-India relations go one step forward, two steps back
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit on Tuesday said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif called all the shots in policy decisions and added that he was completely empowered, reported Dunya News.
In an interview with Press Trust of India (PTI), Abdul Basit said that Pak-India relations went one step forward and two steps back. He added that PM was completely empowered in Pakistan’s relations with India and security agencies’ opinion on the subject was nothing out of the ordinary.
Abdul Basit rejected the notion about Pakistan army and said that Pakistan valued its relations with India but the relations were going one step forward and two steps back currently. He added that both the countries needed to make effort in order to improve ties.
Abdul Basit said that democracy took roots in Pakistan during the last nine years and PM was completely empowered in all policy decisions. He added that Pakistan and India couldn’t give up on each other.
