ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – International Republican Institute (IRI) has on Sunday cleared its position on the survey report recently made public. The organisation rejected the criticism by the Opposition parties and owned the survey report that declared Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif the most popular politician in the country, reported Dunya News.

In its explanatory statement, IRI declared the survey correct and rejected the criticism terming it baseless. IRI told that it had informed the representatives of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) about it.

The organisation said that the survey was conducted between September 27 and October 26 last year in which 4978 people were surveyed from 75 districts. Those surveyed included male and female population from both rural and urban areas. The survey was aimed at improving policy-making within the political parties.

The survey had declared PM the most popular politician and Punjab government the most popular provincial government. 64% of the people surveyed had declared government’s performance satisfactory.
