Summary Rickshaw drivers warned of strong protests if parking ticket system not done away with
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Rickshaw drivers on Sunday protested against parking tickets and unfair fines imposed on them by the traffic wardens. They also threatened of strong protests if parking ticket system is not done away with, reported Dunya News.
Awami Rickshaw Union led a rally from Faisal Town to Railway Station. They protested that there was no parking area for the rickshaws in the entire city and mafia was everywhere they’d park their vehicles. They also said that the parking mafia is strongest at Railway Station.
The rally was attended by the drivers and owners in large number to raise their voice for their rights. They said that strong measures will be taken if their demands were not heeded to by the government. The rally jammed the traffic wherever it went.
