Summary Political parties unimpressed with Imran's claim to dominance on Karachi, lash out at PTI chief

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were on Wednesday unimpressed with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s claim to dominance of Karachi, reported Dunya News.

Imran had claimed that Karachi was PTI’s and the political parties currently dominating the electoral politics of the city lashed out at him in retaliation. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wasan unfolded the entire history while responding to the claim. “Jamiat Ulema Pakistan made a similar claim in 70s, then Jamaat Islami and now MQM claims the same”, he said.

On the other hand, MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari Subzwari told Imran to wait till the next election. Sajid Ahmed said that Imran’s memory had started showing signs of ageing.

The recently emerging contender in Karachi’s politics Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Raza Haroon said that instead of laying claims to the city, the political parties should serve the people of Karachi and contest the next election based on the same.

The political leaders said that the statement by Imran Khan seemed like a provocation because with the worsening PTI position in Karachi showed exactly the opposite.
