Ex-MQM leader Saleem Shahzad to be presented in ATC today

Summary MQM Pakistan and London have denied any connection with the accused.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad would be presented before Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) today (Tuesday).

According to details, the accused would be taken to the court amid high security for the hearing of various cases against him.

Earlier on Monday, the leader was taken into custody upon his arrival at Karachi airport from Dubai.

Saleem Shahzad has been accused of his escape from the country on fake identity card in 1990s. He was also declared as proclaimed offender in Dr Asim case.

Ex-MQM leader expressed satisfaction over the judicial system in Pakistan and said that he will face all the charges against him.

Meanwhile, chief of Pakistan Sarzameen Party (PSP) Mustafa Kamal said that Saleem Shahzad has no link with his party. He said there is still a scary voice behind MQM. 

However, MQM Pakistan and London have also denied any connection with Saleem Shahzad.
