Summary CEO of former army chief Ashfaq Kayani's brother Kamran Kayani's company released from Adiala Jail
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Monday ordered the release of Wasim Aslam, the chief executive officer of former army chief General (r) Ashfaq Pervez Kayani’s brother Kamran Kayani’s company, in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) land scam, reported Dunya News.
The court verdict said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and DHA authorities failed to prove that the accused damaged the housing authority in any capacity.
IHC’s verdict says that NAB had started the investigation into the scam upon DHA’s request. However, NAB and DHA officials failed to prove the allegations. It further stated that there was no evidence that Wasim Aslam defrauded the public.
The verdict says that DHA officials failed to prove a single allotment certificate marketed. It said that the investigations against the accused were complete and thus there was no reason to keep him in jail.
The bail will not affect the trial of the case.
