Summary The provincial govt has formally written to the federal govt in this regard
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Tuesday contacted the federal government to provide jobs for as many as 3000 youngsters after terming unemployment and underdevelopment as major causes for turning to terrorism.
According to details, in order to curb terrorism and unemployment, efforts are being made to induct the youth from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into the KP police. The KP Police chief said it is the need of the hour to train the tribal youth to fight terrorism.
Since FATA directly falls under the federal government control, it is difficult for the holders of FATA domicile to get employment anywhere other than the federal capital.
Inspector General (IG) Police Nasir Durrani said that the inductment of youth from tribal areas into the police is urgently needed for future.
Reportedly, the IG has gotten the provincial government to ask the federal government to make vacancies as part of FATA reforms so that the youngsters from the tribal areas can be inducted in the KP police force.
In the correspondence sent to the federal government by the provincial government, it has been requested to provide as many as three thousand vacancies.
The KP government believes inducting youth from tribal areas into the province’s police force will help fight terrorism because the roots of most acts of terrorism lead to the tribal areas.
