Summary Finance Minister says that 6th census in Pakistan will also be conducted under PML-N govt

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has on Monday said that census has been postponed because of army’s other engagements. He was hopeful that the 6th census in Pakistan would also be conducted under Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government, reported Dunya News.

Addressing the international conference for census in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar said that the census was postponed due to army’s prior engagements in security operations. He added that the last census conducted in Pakistan was also under PML-N government in 1998 and the next one will also be held under PML-N rule.

Dar stated that the announcement of holding the census under army supervision had already been made but the census was postponed due to military’s engagement in security operations. He added that 200,000 people would be trained for census and the exercise will cost a total of Rs 14 billion.
