LAHORE (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday barred party leadership for welcoming him on his arrival to Pakistan after successful open-heart surgery and directed to cancel all reception ceremonies hosted in his honour, reported Dunya News.

In a message to the people of Pakistan, he said that he did not know that a big welcome ceremony had been arranged on his way back to Pakistan. He said that he purely recognised people s love and sincerity, by the grace of God, a sensitive yet stage-wise operation was completed successfully and safely.

The PM also said that as soon as doctors would allow him to travel, he would be present among his people. The holy month of Ramazan was ending, Eid-ul-Fitr was on its way, people should prepare for Eid festivities according to their religious and cultural traditions, Nawaz said.

Nawaz Sharif expressed extreme grief and sorrow over recent terror activities in Karachi and added that people should remember the martyrs and pray for them while celebrating Eid.
