LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday convened a meeting to review the overall situation regarding monsoon season and safety arrangements against possible flood threats which lasted 3 hours, reported Dunya News.

On this occasion, Shehbaz reprimanded relevant officials for not presenting a plan regarding the availability of edible items during any natural catastrophe. He also expressed resentment over Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) for not ordering necessary tools and items in the given time span.

Following up on his decision last year, CM said that he felt disappointment over non-operational advance warning system prior to assess weather condition. Provincial cabinet committee for floods should have worked actively and decisions regarding floods should have been taken timely, CM said.

The CM had also directed to functionalise flood warning centre by Wednesday.
