KARACHI (Dunya News) – Raheem Swati, key criminal in murder of Orangi Pilot Project’s director, Perween Rehman has revealed on Tuesday that she was killed for not allowing the land to be used for construction of a Judo Karate club.
Dunya News has obtained Raheem Swati’s confessional video. The criminal said that Perween was murdered with help of a Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander.
"Three to four persons visited madam and asked her if she had any reservations if children practised karate in the evening there," he said. A local named Waheed brought back her reply days after the meeting. " Waheed told us that madam is not willing to accept the proposal as women use the facility and would face difficulty there," Swati added.
Swati said that a person named Ayaz made him talk to a TTP commander, Musa who said that Perween was on banned outfit s hit list already. He stated that a few days later Musa called him and told that ‘it was done’.
Swati was Awami National Party’s (ANP) ex-councilor and district secretary information. He revealed that political parties used to benefit off language-based riots in Orangi and Katti Pahari areas of Karachi. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and ANP carried out politics over bodies, he alleged.
Two miscreants named, Amjad and Imran opened fire at a bus in Qasba Colony amid riots which claimed two lives while several were wounded, he added.
However, police are proceeding with Swati’s interrogation. The key criminal was arrested last week in Karachi’s Manghopir area. Court gave the culprit in police’s custody for 14 days.
