Summary Operation against Chotu Gang in Kacha area of Rajanpur prove to be an absolute disaster.

RAJANPUR (Dunya News) – With 6 police officers martyred and 24 taken as hostages, the operation against Chotu Gang in Kacha area of Rajanpur prove to be an absolute disaster. The Opposition announced Thursday to raise the matter in Punjab Assembly as well. Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif was seen fuming over the failed operation, angered by the incompetence of the high police officials. The CM has stated that those responsible for the disastrous results should prepare themselves for punishment.

According to the details, it is yet to decided as to who was responsible for the failure; either flawed planning or the police officials, including Inspector-General (IG) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera who arrived 8 days late, Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Eshaan Sadiq, Regional Police Officer Dera Ghazi Khan Rehmat Ulllah Khan Niazi, District Police Officer (DPO) Rajanpur Ghulam Mubashar Mekan or DPOn Rahim Yar Khan Zeeshan Asghar.

Punjab CM lambasted the police officials and expressed his dissatisfaction over the flawed strategy.

The concerned police officials have stated that the suspects have the backing of political families of Dera Ghazi Khan due to which the police was facing difficulties.

However several questions remain unanswered regarding Chotu Gang. How did it acquire the latest weaponry including the anti-aircraft gun, how did the suspects became an expert in raid action. Meanwhile the police officers were only provided with 150 rounds of bullets. Also, who authorized the officers to conduct the operation in a dense forest without proper training? Furthermore, who was responsible for providing the officers with ammunition, reinforcements and food?

These questions shall have to be answered by IG Punjab and RPO Dera Ghazi Khan.
