GUJRANWALA (Web Desk) - Polling for by-elections in Gujranwala’s constituency NA-101 Wazirabad and PS-23 Nowshero Feroz is underway today (Tuesday).
According to details, the electoral procedure in the both constituencies was started at 8 a.m and will be continued till 5 p.m without any break.
In NA-101, almost all national parties have fielded their candidates but real contest will be held among Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Justice (r) Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) candidate Muhammad Ahmed Chatta.
On the other hand, PML-N has boycotted by-elections in PS-23 Nowshero Feroz whereas as many as 1,25,857 people will exercise their voting right.
The candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is openly trampling law by sending cars to take locals from their houses as the lack of voter’s interest is depressing the participants.
The seat fell vacant after disqualification of PML-N’s Masror Jatoi.
Pakistan Army troops have also been deployed in and outside sensitive polling stations to avoid any untoward incident.
