Summary Says this has happened for the first time in country's history, Rs 30bn to be plundered by govt

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has stated on Friday that it is for the first time in the country’s history that locally produced urea is being sold at a relatively greater price than the imported urea, reported Dunya news.

Khan said in a tweet that Pakistani-made urea is rupees 250 more expensive than that imported from other countries. The monopoly among the government and urea-manufacturing companies is impacting the farmers of the country in a very negative way, he said, because of the move rupees 30 billion will go into straight into the government’s pocket, he said. They (the farmers) are not being benefitted by the reduction in the prices of the agricultural remittances, Khan said. He further added that the government is suppressing the public by imposing extra taxes upon natural gas, electricity and diesel.

Khan stated that the next generations are being placed under the influence of loans. The government is involved in making investments in foreign countries through the taxes paid by the public, he said. Further adding that in the past 3 years Pakistani nationals purchased property worth rupees 700 billion in Dubai and that in the previous year and that property amounting to rupees 2 billion US dollars in Dubai was owned by Pakistanis alone.
