QUETTA (Dunya News) – Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Thursday expressed resentment over not registering case in Muslim Bagh student’s suicide.

A hearing was conducted by Justice Shakeel Ahmed Baloch in which Home Secretary Akbar Durrani, Education Secretary Abdul Saboor Kakkar, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Noshad Younis, District Police Officer (DPO) Qilla Saifullah Abid Baloch, Station House Officer (SHO), principal Muslim Bagh Girls College Abida Ghous and clerk Mahmood were present.

The judge showed rage over delay in case filing and asked the police officers that why no legal documentation has been filed yet.

SHO told the court that Saqiba’s relatives contacted police after 26 hours of her burial while AIG Legal assured to lodge the case today and to submit the case copy tomorrow.

Meanwhile, concerned people have also pledged to form judicial commission into the matter till Tuesday as Sindh Chief Minister (CM) and Chief Secretary are out of city.

The court has further directed to look into the policy of changing the name of college.

Subsequently, the hearing was adjourned till tomorrow.

Earlier on Wednesday, BHC Chief Justice met the family and fellows of Quetta student outside the court. The relatives demanded CJ Noor Mohammad to take notice of the incident upon which, he assured to launch an investigation into the matter.

Earlier on February 16, security personnel had recorded statements of family members. Sisters of the late student had then also demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter.

They claimed that Saqiba had not committed suicide and she was ‘murdered’ by the college administration. The bereaved family demanded the department concerned to take stern action against the college management.

Saqiba, one of the position holders of her class had committed suicide after principal halted her examination’s registration.

Reportedly, the student had requested the principal, Abida Ghous to appoint a female invigilator for girls.

To add to the tragedy, late Saqiba left a note addressed to the principal which roughly stated that she would question her on the day of judgment for the injustice she had to face.

According to investigations done on Dunya News part, principal reportedly had given authority to run all college affairs to her brother-in-law, the clerk.
