MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has reached Muzaffarabad to launch the National Health Programme for Azad Kashmir, Dunya News reported Thursday.
Health minister Saira Afzal Tarar and Maryam Nawaz Sharif are accompanying the Prime Minister on his visit.
Muzaffarabad and Kotli districts of Azad Kashmir are included in the Prime Minister s National Health Programme, which will benefit over 82,000 and 79,000 families respectively.
The programme was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Islamabad on December 31 last year.

The scheme is designed for the poor families with free of cost access to secondary as well as priority diseases treatment.
The annual cover of the scheme is up to 300,000 rupees extendable to 600,000 rupees.
In the first phase, the programme will be implemented in twenty-three districts of Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz clicked while handing over the cards
A baseline survey has already been completed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to identify the current Out of Pocket expenditure of its focused beneficiaries.
While addressing the participants at the inaugural ceremony the Prime Minister said that the government is making sure that the people get medical facilities with ease and at economical rates. He said that the programme has come in bid to solve some issues out of many that the locals face.
He said that National Health Programme is an attribute of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz s (PML-N) charter. PM Nawaz said that the government is making efforts to provide dignified medical treatments to the impoverished.
The Prime Minister empathised with the locals saying that how could people avail medical facilities when they cannot bear food expenses of their children.
