Summary All three members of political organisation; behind multiple killings, explosions and extortion
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Rangers have arrested three terrorists in the Garden area of Karachi on charge of being linked and trained by Indian agency RAW, reported Dunya news.
The Rangers presented all three terrorists, namely Faheem alias Mirchi, Riaz alias Lakkar and Nasir alias Khajji, in the Sindh High Court before the media with their faces covered in masks. Rangers’ spokesperson Colonel Shahid while addressing the media during the briefing stated that Riaz and Nasir went to India in 1994 from Karachi via Sri Lanka and Bangkok. In India, they were trained by RAW on manufacturing different kinds of bomb, such as the time-bomb, and using different types of ammunitions, such as the Light Machine Gun (LMG) and the Kalashnikov, he said.
The Rangers’ spokesperson further added that the three terrorists were involved in the explosion occurring on Tariq Road in 2001. Khajji was behind firing multiple rockets on the Sindh Secretariat building in 1993; moving on to attacking the Garden Police Headquarters. He has confessed to killing 12 people; he is also involved in China-cutting and land grabbing. Mirchi has admitted to murdering 4 people, stealing animal hides and being involved in extortion.
Lakkar is involved in murdering many members of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). He is also behind multiple killings on ethnic grounds. To make the strikes in 1995 more effective, Riaz carried out cracker attacks.
Furthermore, important developments have been made regarding the police standoff that took place in Mehmoodabad. Accused criminal Ali Butt was a close friend of Uzair Baloch -- both met during their days of imprisonment. Butt kidnapped a boy in the Dhobi Ghat area in Sher Shah on the orders of Baloch. He proceeded to killing the boy brutally and throwing bits of his body in the Lyari lake. Ever since the Lyari operation was initiated, Butt went into hiding in Chanesar Goth and was operating a network of criminals from that location.
According to the police, Butt became acquainted with Baloch while the two were in jail and that the former was bailed out of jail by the latter. He was a member of a political party prior to his incarceration. He was wanted by the Lyari police on accounts of murder, attempted murder, extortion and kidnapping.
