Summary Arif Alvi says there will be no seat adjustment with 'terrorist organization' in Karachi

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr. Arif Alvi has on Sunday said that the rigging for the local body elections in Sindh has already started. He clearly stated that there will be no seat adjustment with ‘terrorist organization’ in Karachi, reported Dunya News.

Holding a press conference at Insaf House in Karachi, Arif Alvi said that there will be no seat adjustment with ‘terrorist organization’ in Karachi but there can be seat adjustment with Jamaat Islami (JI) on some of the seats. He demanded the local body elections to be held under army’s supervision.

Alvi said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been challenged for the first time in the interior Sindh and that is why the ruling party of the province is in a state of panic. He said that the rigging with PTI has already started on the issue of Returning Officers (RO) and PTI candidates’ nominations are being rejected without reason.

The PTI leader claimed that over 200 FIRs have so far been registered against PTI local body candidates in Sindh. He said that there is no chance of seat adjustment in Karachi with PPP, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) or any outlawed organizations.

“Even the people of Lyari have rejected the PPP. Looking at the growing popularity of PTI in Lyari, the provincial government has started alleging us of contacts with gang war suspects”, said Alvi.
