KARACHI (Dunya News) – The metrological department has alerted of intense heat in Karachi from tomorrow (Friday) for next three days forecasting that the heat could intensify up to 40 degrees, Dunya News reported.
The Sindh government has also issued an advisory to the citizens to take care of themselves.
According to details, the Met department has forecasted a 5 to 6 degrees increase in heat on September 18, 19 and 20 and temperature can go as high as 40 degrees.
The Met department says that the decrease in air pressure emerging from the Bay of Bengal is in India right now and will cross Pakistan. A moderate rain has also been forecasted in Sukkur, Mirpur Khas, Hyderabad and Larkana.
The decrease in humidity in air will likely increase heat index and prompt emergency situation. Director Health Services Zafar Ejaz has said that the citizens should take precautionary measure during these three days of intense heat and drink a lot of fluids.
As many as 1200 people had died due to heat strokes in the month of June this year.
