Summary Issuing the notices to Ayaz Sadiq and Aleem Khan, LHC demanded answer till 11 am tomorrow

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Thursday issued notices to Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Abdul Aleem Khan in 3 applications filed against them challenging their candidacy for the NA-122 by-elections. LHC has demanded an answer from both till 11am tomorrow, reported Dunya News.

According to details, LHC’s 2-member bench comprising Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa and Justice Masood Abid Naqvi heard the 2 petitions filed by Ishtiaq Chaudhry Advocate on behalf of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and 1 filed by Hafiz Talha Advocate. The petitions say that Ayaz Sadiq was fined Rs. 2,387,758 but he didn’t pay it and hasn’t obtained a stay order against this fine either.

The petitions say that Abdul Aleem Khan of PTI does not fulfill the prerequisites for a candidate listed in the Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution but the returning officer accepted the papers of both Ayaz Sadiq and Aleem Khan which is violation of the constitution. The petitions demanded rejection of the papers of both the candidates.

After initial hearing, the bench ordered Ayaz Sadiq and Abdul Aleem Khan to file their response by 11am tomorrow.
